Every cake is built with your choice of 1 or 2 of our handmade flavors, layered between sheets of chocolate cookie crunch. Our pies come in a chocolate or graham cracker crust — perfect for every occasion.

Our Story

A Grandmother's Inspiration

Owner Krissy Donahue named the shop after "Nona" — the nickname her four children use for their grandmother. What started as a single scoop shop on Main Street in Hingham has grown into a beloved South Shore institution with three locations and a traveling ice cream truck.

We make every batch in-house — mixing up to 750 gallons a week during summer — with 30+ flavors rotating daily and a core of permanent classics. Nona's is proudly the ice cream of choice for Paul Wahlberg's restaurant frappes at Hingham Shipyard.

Now open: Our beautiful new space at 31–35 Main Street in Hingham features expanded seating, gelato, pastries, and coffee — in addition to everything you already love about Nona's.
